Gentle Chiropractic
There are many situations where a standard chiropractic adjustment is neither required nor desirable. For example, some rehabilitative and post-operative conditions do not warrant adjustment, and some patients by choice prefer just to be treated with soft tissue techniques.
Soft tissue techniques or 'gentle chiropractic' may include but is not limited to the use of: chiropractic massage and joint articulation (putting a joint through its range of motion very slowly and gently), deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and remedial massage for back pain. It may also include specialised treatments such as sports massage and pregnancy massage.
Massage by the safest hands: your chiropractor
There are many individuals that offer various types of massage therapy but your chiropractor is a registered health professional who has undergone extensive undergraduate and postgraduate education in medicine, diagnosis, pharmacology, neurology and pathology - as well as treatment techniques.
Dr Sharon Wardle has been involved in research programs and specialist training including football medicine and uses soft tissue techniques on all of her patients, including those who go on to have chiropractic adjustments. She is also trained in osteopathic techniques.
When a chiropractor looks at or touches your spine or limbs they are immediately assessing the structures involved: bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. They can deduce a lot from your medical history, posture and occupation. They can also make you aware of possible pathological processes that may require medical referral. They are qualified to manage work related injuries and you can receive medical insurance benefits and Medicare coverage for chronic conditions treated by chiropractors. None of these benefits are available to you if you choose to use less qualified individuals.
Dr Sharon Wardle Chiropractor is located inside Fitness First, Shop 451, Loft Level 4, Macquarie Shopping Centre, Macquarie Park. This is close to North Ryde, Denistone, Denistone East, Eastwood, West Ryde, Meadowbank, Gladesville, Epping and Putney. It is directly across the road from the Macquarie University campus.
